Point Park University's Executive Certificate in Financial Planning program provides financial professionals with a CFP® Board registered and approved program that offers students the education requirements to sit for the CFP® Certification Exam. This program is for those who are currently employed or interested in entering the financial planning and services industry. Our goal is to provide you with the financial professional skills, training, and knowledge to succeed in the industry.
Course topics will focus on all areas of the CFP® Certification Examination including Fundamentals of Financial Planning, Insurance, Investment Planning, Income Tax Planning, Retirement Planning, and Estate Planning. All courses will be taught by Point Park University faculty from our IACBE accredited Rowland School of Business, including:
The entire program takes 10 months to complete, and is offered completely online. All lectures will take place during a scheduled time via Zoom, and you will submit your coursework in our Canvas platform. Please refer to the schedule provided on the website for exact dates and times. The program will consist of the following six courses:
Upon completing the program, you will be prepared to take the CFP® Certification Examination. Please take note that Point Park University does not certify students. The CFP® status is granted by the Certified Financial Planner Board to candidates who have met the education, experience, examination and ethics requirements.
Per the rules set by the Certified Financial Planner Board, to qualify for this exam preparation program you must have completed a Bachelor's Degree.
The Executive Certificate in Financial Planning program is being offered in partnership with Dalton Education. The program's tuition cost of $5,250 includes instruction by our experienced University faculty members, and access to our virtual learning platform called Canvas.
There are additional costs after registration, which will be paid directly to Dalton Education before the start of your program. These additional costs are as follows:
Students may also elect to purchase additional exam preparation materials and sessions through Dalton Education directly, however these additional materials/services are not required.
Students who register for a course, but do not open the course or begin any course-work, are eligible for a refund at the discretion of the department offering the course. Those seeking a refund must contact the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at SCPS@PointPark.Edu to begin the process.
If your request complies with the cancellation policy, a refund will be issued by check and mailed to your billing address.
